We provide specialist skills assessment services to a number of state and federal Government initiatives, designed to facilitate entry into vocational education and training (VET) system. Skills stores help people gain recognition for current skills and provide guidance on how best to gain qualifications and how to update or improve existing qualifications. Our software sits in the centre of the Skills Stores services. This web enabled software maps a person's skills to national units of competency, qualifications, courses and occupations. An evidence module allows Skill Store clients to find out whether they may be eligible for recognition of prior learning.
Skill Stores are curerntly located in Queensland, (formerly also in Victoria, Australia Capital Territory and South Australia). Skill Stores in Queensland have shop fronts that allow clients to drop in for facilitated career planning assistance. In the Australia Capital Territory (ACT) and South Australia, Skill Store are initiative and project based and respond to identified community needs. For example, the close of Mitsubishi in South Australia and Child Care skill shortages in the ACT.
At a National level we provide the software that runs Tradeset, a pre-screening skills assessment for all 457 Migrants entering Australia.
